Vancouver based photographer, Steve Hayek, has been developing his skills since he was given his first camera at age 5.   A bit of a traditionalist, most of the work he produces is done using an SLR film camera, older than he is, however has recently made the switch to digital. He has studied photography both in the classroom and experienced it throughout western Canada and parts of Europe and the USA.

Steve is becoming known for his talent of discovering unique perspectives and the ability to capture details often overlooked. As he expands his collection of images, he will continue to take risks, trying to create the perfect image of whatever is in front of his lens.

From me....

I have been very lucky...it's a big part of life. I've been able to visit many places and slowly build my collection of art images, while at the sametime getting to be a part of other peoples special events and days.

Photography is a huge part of all our lives; it allows us to capture memories of special people, places and even things. I am truly grateful for the skill that I've been able to grow and will continue to look for that 'perfect' shot.

Although I did make the change to digital, I can promise that I will continue to use my 135mm and medium format cameras to create images, that I hope will grab all those whom, I'm lucky enough to show them to.

A special thanks goes out to Ida, Julius, Nagymama, Nagypapa, Jen, Kari, Feeney & Pat, you've always been my biggest fans & largest support. To all the others that have been along for the ride, my thanks and....
